What a great shot. This is a beady-eyed, hairy little guy, but he’s got personality! The fact that the foliage is out of focus helps the viewer to realize just how tiny he is–as if we’re looking through a microscope. Very nice job!

Wonderful shot. I’ve always seen these darting around everywhere and now I know what they look like close up. Excellent.

I think spiders are amazing animals, they have a minimum of four eyes, the pholcus in my bathroom play their web lines like music. Thanks for the picture of this much maligned little fellow.

Indeed a great macro. Those eyes are so deep and communicative.

They are actually very sophisticated hunting-masters, such jumping-spiders, despite their tinyness.

Nice shot! I would almost even want to pat his head, because he looks very furry…

I’ve watched spiders make fascinating webs in record time; they are an amazing insect. Thanks for the up close & personal version.

The branch on the left appears to be behind the spider, yet still holds focus. Very interesting shot.

I cringe at spiders. You are very brave! Great shot. Thanks for the courage.

14th September 2009 at 7:34 pm

you should have to stop down the aperture to increase the depth of field more.

…though I also, cringe when I walk unsuspectingly through a web..I am definitely intrigued by them. (the spiders and the webs they spin.)
