Tabular Iceberg
by Carole-Anne Fooks
As the sun dips towards the horizon at about 2am the colours of the ice and the sea are enhanced in the Anarctica's extended 'Golden Hour' of a sunset and sunrise that happens all at once.
Equipment: Canon EOS 300 Fuji film 100 ISO

I like the moodiness of the shades of blue and gray. The angular ice contrasts with the softer clouds and the satin sea. Very nice shot!

At first I couldnt recognise what this was, an unusual take on a much photographed subject. Love the light and shadows.

Lots of nice grays; the light is very good.

A wonderful depiction of the calm, yet awesome ferocity of an oft-photographed subject.

The iceberg looks immense and the rigid geometrical shapes lend an air of man-made-ness to the whole structure. Love the vertical faces and their contrast with the horizontal direction of the layers of ice.
Great Shot

This reminds me of something on a much smaller scale. Great lighting, and I like the reflections in the water. What a wonderful time you should have in your retirement!

Looks like a fortress! Like solid Rock! The shimmer of the water looks like translucent satin. Looks like the sky opened up just enough to let a little light shine…. You did an incredible job. Many pictures of this subject, but never the same eye. You are terrific!
Thank you for sharing.

Sunrise and sunset together? Amazing! I guess that explains the amazing and otherworldly light in the fantastic image.
