Regal Pair
by Lynda Randolph
I met this handsome King Penguin couple at Volunteer Point in the Falkland Islands, about a 2-hour jeep ride from Stanley. Walking among large colonies of 3 types of penguins was awesome!

Very cool. Penguins seem very friendly.

Penguins are always impeccably dressed! To me this is an atypical shot–I’ve not seen many photos of penguins against a grassy slope. I like it very much.

Very unusual indeed to come across a shot of penguins against a background other than white.

How you managed to get just two of these lovely creatures alone against all the thousands that are there is wonderful, so different from the usual shots. Many congrats

Lovely picture; I would have loved to have seen pictures of the colonies too.

Love their elegant pose; they seem to be discussing something important. Penguins travel far and wide. I recently saw a picture of a group of them swimming in the Indian Ocean.

This was truly an awesome experience in the Falklands–I was there with Lynda and her husband. The King penguins, Chin Straps, and Gentoo penguins were also an inspiration to observe.

Beautiful, beautiful. Now that I look at them again, it does appear that there may be a story behind their relationship! :>) Great picture, Lynda!

I have been a Penguin lover for decades so much so that I got a little Tattoo but it is not nearly as beautiful as the picture you took. Great work, Love it!

Lynda, what a stunning photo! I am wondering how you had a background free of P.P.P. (Projectile Penguin Poop)! Anyway, those are spectacular specimens.
