Mt Ngauruhoe Sunrise

by Michael Treloar

Magical morning on a snowy ridge. Early morning start at 4am, to walk to the top of the ridge before the sun came up. This was my first shot, could of been earlier. Maybe next time leave at 3:30am.

As a seamstress, the colors in this photo would make for a gorgeous gown. Your early morning rise has certainly paid off. Thank you for your efforts. Absolutely wonderful shot.

Great shot, excuse my ignorance but didnt think New zealand had snow. What a wonderful surprise. How long did it take you to get to the ridge?

A most amazing view. The place appears to be so high that it seems one can reach out and touch the sky!!
Totally dream like colors!!
An image with the wow factor.

Overwhelmed!!…… by everything here. The beauty and the grand scale of what is seen in this image, I could be biased here but, having lived in new Zealand there is so much beauty there and my favorite bungy jumping. Congrats onthe Potd

This just shows how dedicated we photographers can be, getting up so early and trekking uphill in the snow; it paid off though; cracking shot.

Congrats! That’s a gorgeous picture, with the soft hues of violet, white and blue. That must be a volcano, right?
