I loved this shot when you posted it on another site and it’s well deserved on this site as well. Congrats! It’s a great image! It’s also nice to see a fellow naturephotographers.net member held in such hi regards.

What a great shot! With tail pulled forward and under for balance and warmth the bird strikes a great pose. I just love it.

Looks cold in the picture.

Funny how “seeing” the breath makes us aware of life and of the great “exchange” as we and billions of other beasties take in and exhale the same air.

Bird breath, Nice picture. Congratulation Ian.

The breath makes the shot unique. However, I also love the way the bird is perfectly back-lit with just enough fill light to bring out detail. Great Shot!

Anurag–great analogy! LOL
This is also the first time for me I have thought about bird breath…very fascinating!!!!!

SUPER shot. WOW.

I wonder whether he has bug breath? Red-Winged Blackbirds are true harbingers of spring, and return so early that nights are still freezing and some snow on the ground. Perhaps now some of you will understand what makes us ‘birders’ tick! Nothing like dawn birding to make you truly appreciate nature. This is a great shot–thanks for sharing it!
