Flamingo Lake

Lake Nakuru, Kenya. To photograph this expansive soda lake dotted with flamingos, I got as close to the water’s edge as I could on the muddy banks, and used my 200mm zoom to full capacity.

I’m a photographer from Brisbane, Australia – and one of the joys for me (outside my musical profession) is travelling and capturing moments of life through photography. My favourite styles of photography: Portraiture and landscape. Also, in general, I prefer shots which contain an element of ‘cannot be captured exactly again’; that is expressive people shots, action shots and any scenario with a unique aspect to it.

It is hard for me to imagine a bird of this shape flying very far (in the manner of a goose). Flamigos certainly are graceful on land, but look a tad comic to me in flight.
