What a wonderful place! If I could but sit in that lovely chair, close my eyes and inhale….perfection. Even though I don’t see any hint of a breeze, the variety of foliage and color imparts movement, while the chair is solid as a rock. …….totally poetic! This would be a marvelous jigsaw puzzle–maybe with ‘scratch-and-sniff.

I have been waiting for this to appear as POTD as I have seen it on your website. Beautiful, beautiful shot.

As Katherine said, I too can imagine myself in that chair, smelling the perfume and listening to the the buzzing of the bees. The curves and colours of the lavender and the vertical lines of the chair are a masterpiece. :) :) :)

Borrowing from Katherine and Su for now. Meanwhile let me dream of the essence of the place. Thank you Kevin for the photo.

How fascinated I was to see this image. I have one nearly identical to yours, except I would guess that you had yours on a tripod and I think the sun was a little brighter in yours. I took mine on a bright overcast day and it is cooler. Please come here to see my photo.

My visit was the Monday before the festival.

Would you really crush a path to the chair? It looks so untouched.

My allergies would never let me sit there for more than a minute but your excellent photo tells me how peaceful indeed it would be.

I am accustomed to K Pieper grand scale, so a delightful change, and such whimsical mood.

I love the color purple and all the associated hues. The contrast with green is beautiful. This photo feels like a Van Gogh painting to me – I love it!!

I love this picture, I live in the area and do get to smell the lavender. You got the picture just right! Congratulations on getting the photo-of-the-day!

Hi Kevin, The colors in this photo are fantastic. It’s as though the chair has always been the focal point, with the Lavender & Bluebells growing all around in the field just to bring attention to this big blue item…very outstanding.

Fantastico sia la panca di questo indaco stupendo che la lavanda sembra di sentire l’aroma dolce ma penetrante
