A Snowy Egret in the early evening light displays the grace and elegance of a ballerina on the beachside of Lake Jesup located in Seminole County, Florida.

Did you have a long lens or did you use a hide? These birds are generally quite hard to get close to.

Thank you for your very supportive and kind remarks. I shot this image in the early evening as the sun was beginning to set which produced unusual lighting on this Snowy Egret. In answer to Pauline’s question: I used a 300mm lens without a blind…I was couched on the ground next to a tree and the egret seemed unaware of my presence. Thank you again!!!

Absolutely eloquent! The grace and transperancy is just stunning, perhaps that is where the posture of ballet originated. Like a calm assurance. Wonderful shot, keep up the great work.
