Stonethwaite Valley

Stormy spring conditions in the Lake District earlier this year allowed for some unique lighting conditions for the valleys. The valleys around the small village of Stonethwaite, UK have been a favorite place of mine to walk for 20 years and for my father for 50 years.

I’ve been shooting landscapes, sports, and creating fine art works for about 15 years. I’m absolutely amazed like I remember being as a child every time and I make an image!

The bright sun shining through those brooding clouds highlighting the valley floor and walls is a stark contrast to those same dark clouds and the shadows they make. Nice.

An idyllic place and a great photo. You certainly captured a special moment. I love mountains and valleys, and walking is also one of my favorite pastimes.
