My first time looking at the site. ‘Seven Hills’ is visually stunning. Would have liked more info
re exsposure etc, what filter was used to get that sky effect, and was it digitally enhanced in anyway ?

This is a tremendous picture! Thank you for such a good capture. Beautiful area, would be amazing to stand there in the cold and fresh air. Totally expansive!

Majestic yet gentle snowscape scene – i love the filtered sky. Removing the square line on the hill would make it completely natural and maybe more beautiful.

A wonderful winter wonderland, and nice sky. Good shot to look at on a hot summer’s day!

Just gorgeous. Why would you want to remove the line on the hill – looks like a fence, and makes the picture even more interesting.

Thanks for this beautiful picture, so rich in detail. The square line meant human hands so I looked again and saw the tiny roofs on the left and the plumes of smoke coming out.

planet lover is right on. Contrasted against the vastness of the land, the fence and little houses almost look like a quilt. You have to look real hard to see them. Great composition.

In one sense the hand of man is all over this picture as it looks like many of the trees have been cleared. Is this a ski slope? (and I too loved the white snow contrast with pink sky.

Hello Kirk,

no, this is not a ski slope. It’s the right hill from the other side:

Beautiful wintery scenery. The background is incredible.

The square lines apparently are an enclosure belonging to the house tucked at the base of the hill on the left. What a wonderful place to live!
I enjoyed a chance to cool off from the summer heat–snow pictures offer such wonderful opportunities for subtle textures and shading. I like the subtlest hint of alpenglow of pink on the snow–reminds me of good times in the Sierra Nevadas! Thanks for a refreshing potd!
