Hook Head Lighthouse

by Juan Iglesias

Hook Head is located on the east side of the estuary of the three sisters rivers in Ireland. Hook Lighthouse is a unique example of an almost intact medieval lighthouse. It dates from the early 13th century and was a major feat at the time of its construction.

thanks so much for sharing a bit of Ireland with us the green in the forfront leads your eye to the light house while the clouds seem to dance around the top great shot

Really excellent, with all that impression of radiating motion away from the lighthouse. It puts the main subject firmly in perspective.

I like the way the image introduces itself all seems directly moving towards the light house.

See, it’s all a matter of interpretation – one torward and one away from… : ) Lovely photo and great perspective. The brooding clouds make it so “Irish”?

How very interesting! A great picture reflecting a long history of human presence and still inspiring many different views: energy flowing from the lighthouse, toward the lighthouse or, to me, both ‘to’ at the top and ‘from’ at the bottom. Very nice.
