Dawn in the Kingdom

by Michael Anderson

Although Nepal is not technically a kingdom anymore, the Himalayan scenery along the trek to Everest Basecamp feels medieval. The peaks are more majestic than your wildest expectations and the friendly villages and cliffside monasteries feel like they were dropped there straight out of a storybook. Nepal is that rare place that makes you feel like you are stepping back in time to a simpler era.

I knew the minute I saw this that it had to be Michael Anderson. I do like your work. Love this with the dark trees silhouetted against those majestic white peaks which then conbtrast with the dark sky. Absolutely stunning.

Beautiful Himalaya scenery!!! Although i am Nepali i haven’t yet experience the majestic experience of Mt.Everest region. I have felt the same felling during Annapurna Trek in 2007.
Hope to plan a trek soon to Everest Region.

Beautiful spot on this Earth and very nicely captured by an excellent photographer. Congratulations. The color and texture of the mountain made me hungry for Spanish “turrón” (hard almond taffy) even at this early morning hour.

Excellent command of the silhouette in FG and perfect exposure on Main subject of mountains. A perfect and beautiful image.

Michael, you truly captured the majesty of the Himalaya. I took 450 photos while there and was bitterly dissapointed with the results. As a result I concluded, the stunning beauty of these mountains can not be captured in 2x. You have proven me very wrong. Bravo!

This is a wonderful and truly unique portrait of Mt. Everest. The moody sky, the stark jagged peaks, and the black lace trees in the foreground show your gift for composition. Remarkable shot from a remarkable photographer!
