Tree Farm
by Kevin Pieper
From the tree farm near Hermiston, Oregon. The air had this hazy feel too it when we walked into the forest a ways, giving an eerie feeling to the place! I tried to recreate that by using a blurred duplicate layer at a low opacity set to luminosity. I think it mostly softened the contrast a bit, but kept the detail in the trunks.

Robert Frost was absolutely right, ‘The woods are lovely, dark and deep….’ Fantastic image! Kirk, sometimes the trees are the elves–I see lots of eyes and faces there. Kevin–your work always impresses.

Excellent and intriguing composition. I quite like the hazy feel you gave this in post processing. Very nice image. Congratulations.

Apart from the misty effect I also like the unusual hues of bluish green in the tree canopy, The luminiscent quality of the tree trunks and the uniform wavyness of the trunks.

Great photography, Kevin! The place is creepy, though, with a feel of inbreeding and faux-nature, like all agrobusiness.
