Stillness
by Orvaratli
At first I thought this shot was a failure. I had used a GND filter on a Cokin filter holder. At 10mm the lens actually captures the holder it self and it also creates alot of vignetting. But after looking at it in my PC I realized that if I croped out the filterholder the vignetting was helping this image by focusing the viewer towards the building and the reflection.

Great processing indeed.
I like all the composition and the way the focus is on the house is great.

I like the little kick of yellow against all that blue. The windows, and the suggestion of warmth within make this shot for me.

It’s hard to get a shot where a house doesn’t look out of place in the wilderness. Great job!

The yellow in the image just fixes your eyes…which love the warmth among all of the cold blue! Great tones and very well composed too.

Stark cold blue broken only by the warm lights of the house and the faintest hint of pink in the sky–perfect. I usually prefer nature shots with no sign of man’s presence, but in this case, the warm lights of the house welcome the viewer just as the warm flow of the horizon does. I like it!

I agree with your synopsis….it’s a wonderful image. BEautifully done.

There are two focal points, the rock and the house; the eye doesn’t quite know where to go. Having said that I like the picture, the colors are really good.
