Frozen Mystic
by David Kiryluk
In the summer of 2005 I was lucky enough to hop on a plane from Canada and explore the wonders of both of New Zealand’s islands and was not disappointed. This photograph taken of a waterfall while on a tour of Milford Sound captures the beauty and cleanliness of New Zealand.
Equipment: Fujifilm S3000

  3. Leslie Parsley Says:

Maybe I’m sick, but when I first looked at this stunning photo, I thought of Dante’s Inferno or a scene from Macbeth. It is so dramatic and so incredibly beautiful. Good title for it.

Fantastic, in every sense of the word! I especially like the soft emerald color of the water in the foreground.

  13. Kirk Jordan Says:

For a second, and given the title, I thought the fall was falling on to ice. Does the Fall always create that pattern below, or was it due to wind or something momentary? Intiguing.

  14. Renee Renee Says:

  19. Mesquite Says:

The name of the photo “Frozen Mystic” infers that the water in the lake perhaps is frozen or semi- frozen. Is it? Is that why there is a pattern on the lake?

  20. Rita Says:

This is a very beautiful view of a waterfall. I do not know if anyone noticed, but I can see a man’s face in the waterfall.

  21. eric s baker Says:

Does anyone see the man’s face in the picture? It may be purely unintentional, but how truly “mystical” the image!! P.S. The shot itself is well exposed , water patterns are intriguing as well as the foreground colot of the water. WOW!

  22. mike mike Says:
