My My what green eyes you have!! Amazing the variety that is present in nature …and thanks for sharing this.
This is a real green-eyed monster. What a large head/eye for such a small bodied snake–is it just a young one? Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and I thank you for sharing this pic with us.
Nicely captured. It looks an innocent little snake though!
“Trust in me, just in me…” Mesmerizing!
I wonder why the eye is so prominent. Maybe someone can shed some light. anyone?……
There has always been something about snakes that turn on alarm bells in my mind. It is surprising just how many people have a dislike for them. Yet when you look at this critter, the detail is fascinating. If it were me taking this shot I would have wanted at the very least a 1000mm lens just to put a good deal of distance between us. A brave man who can take a piccie of this thing without handshake – unless you had image stabalising power.
Great shot of a rare critter
Anurag – Most of the time, for big eyes, it’s realted with an animal hunting at night.
Looking at the color, it could be as well something to attract birds (looks like a little fruit).
The bird coming will then have a bad surprise.
It could be one of the two reason, both, or nothing at all
Nature’s complex !
Great shot indeed. Very clear and the eyes are very sharp.
I grew up in kentucky but I am still terrified of all snakes, but this is a very impressive shot!!Nancy
I love the green eye. Same as my eye color.
I knew it would be you who would have an explaination Thomas, Thanks.
My hero again, taking shots of beautiful but dangerous things.
beautiful
With that cue ball eye & sexy pose, you must be proud of this shot! Well deserved potd.
He, She looks hungry. Don’t know if I’d have gotten that close. Poisonous eh?
Something so small but yet so dangerous!! Great shot!
