Highlands

by Jim Cox

It had rained the previous day and it went well below freezing overnight. When the sun came up the valley was full of mist.

Have you colored this sepia or was this the original shot? Whether or which it has a nice, restful quality.

Nice mood. Love those foggy mornings and the woods. Good use of sepia.

Lovely… The sun breaking through the mist seems to announce that it’s going to be a nice, clear day.

What a wonderful mood! If the fog is low-lying, be sure to watch for ‘fog-bows’ on days like this. I’ve only seen one, but it was a great surprise. The sun has to rise above the fog layer, then creates a colorless bow–very ethereal. Days like this are also great for early morning birding. Very nice potd!

I like this shot, but with so much mist around I can not envisage that there was very much IR. Would be interested to know how you did it. A good image anyway.

Still, quiet and peaceful. The shadows spread like a fan. Foggy mist adds mystery. Were there any bird sounds? Great eye and good timing.

I love the effect the sun gives the fog.
The only things that take my attention away from it is the mud and the house/shack in the background.
Otherwise it’s very peaceful.
Nice shot.
