Calm Amid the Flurry
by Lakshmi Prabhala
We are all in a constant hurry to get somewhere, to get something done. In the mad rush its so easy to forget to even acknowledge leave alone appreciate the smaller pleasures.
Regarding the photograph, I must admit that it was a stroke of luck. As you can see the picture was shot in the early hours of a winter morning when the light wasnt great. This was a test shot in an auto exposure mode. I later tried many shots with different settings but none have the impact that this creates.
Equipment: Nikon D80

I am totally taken in by photography as a medium. Photography allows you to look at the world in totally different perspective, trains your eyes to see the world in better light and look for beauty in the most unexpected of places. It is indeed very surprising that so much can be learnt and understood about our world just by freezing a frame for a fraction of a second.

Nice high impact shot! The mass of birds fluttering through the sky is quite spectacular, set against the mosque(?) backdrop.

Wonderful shot! Nice moment!

Interesting that some of the birds are calm and some are in a panic! Oftimes there are storms and we are better to find the calm. “Peace be still”. Very good shot, quite introspective. Keep up the great work.
