Unwinding

by Lakshmi Prabhala

These are a new foliage of an ornamental plant. The curl formations were so attractive that I couldn't resist a few shots.

I am totally taken in by photography as a medium. Photography allows you to look at the world in totally different perspective, trains your eyes to see the world in better light and look for beauty in the most unexpected of places. It is indeed very surprising that so much can be learnt and understood about our world just by freezing a frame for a fraction of a second.

I can’t imagine what kind of plant this is – it certainly caught my attention. Love the color and the pattern!

I don’t know whether this is a fern or a palm…whatever it is, I LOVE it! I have always been fascinated with the beauty of new sprouts, buds, and leaflets–you caught a magical moment in beautiful detail and color.

That’s a real neat composition Lakshmi!

They seem to be the newly sprouting leaves of Cycas. ………what are they?
