Peace of Mind

by Alessandro Zocchi

This group of flowers was harshly lit by the midday sun, inspiring me to create an image with strong color effect. Setting the camera with the shallowest aperture produced beautiful patches of blurred flowers in the foreground. In a tight window I set two distant focused flowers and whenever a butterfly was approaching them I started to shoot. This picture, I find, communicates a tremendous sense of wellbeing.

That’s a superlative shot. The flowers are perfectly placed – in the frame and relative to each other. The placement of the butterfly amongst the outof focus flowers is really very ingenious and beautiful.

Beautiful and lucky shot. Lucky to have them all three in focus at the same time, and beautiful because of how it was executed.

I think this is one of the best photographs for presenting a visual summer feeling and kind of ease. Your concept works perfect and the image has such a strong and “healthy” message for the stressed mind of human beings….it should hang on the walls of workaholics to remember. Compliment!
