Midday Nap
by Timothy Andes
There is beauty in simplicity and I often aim for less. It was a sunny day at the zoo and this Caracal made it that much nicer.

Really DIG the sphinx-like “pose”. Way to zoom in and crop the image just right.. . nothing unessential.. just form & texture at its best!

Lovely pose; pity about the blue wall.

The blue wall doent do it for me either, sorry.

There’s an over-all blue hue to this shot which Im not that keen on to be honest.

I like the shot but i would have given it more light so that the image speaks out more. I like the contrasting blue but keep it slight.

Great Ears!

Lovely use of the blue backround, which brings out the focus so much clearer, and the contrast between the beige and blue DOES work. Good Job!

The innocence also is what really captured my attention, lovely!

The blue wall overshadows your subject. All else is excellent.

Beautiful. The image is so lovely and peaceful, nothing else matters. Anything else is beyond control and doesn’t change the beauty of the subject or the shot. Well done.

Sorry to be critical Timothy, but I sincerely do feel that the composition could have been improved, though I am not aware of the ground situation and the possible constraints in framing. Regarding the blue wall You can use photoshop to warm up the cat, which will bring an element of color contrast and balance out the blue. Congratulations on POTD neverthless!!
Cheers!

The luminous blue of the wall reminds me of the glow of the television set – which some house cats just love to lay in front of. I am not familiar with this particular type of feline, but the pose reminds me of a housecat in fron of the TV. In that way I think it is very unique, taking something so exotic and making it look so familiar, even a little “campy”. Cool photo the same way a John Waters film is cool: pushed to its limits until it resembles something else entirely!!
