Light Painting the Hills

One of my recent trips included a stop at the Painted Hills. We had superb cloud cover for sunset, but it didn't really light up with color. While waiting though, the light move on and off the hills, providing a dramatic and slightly different look at the area.

Very nice landscape indeed. I really like the colors of the mountains and the way they blend in with the whole image. Even the color of the skies offers a great combination.

What an interesting place. Some of the hills look luke ruffled skirts, some like straw hats. I love the earth tones!

I don’t know how you do it, but the shadows are warm and rich in detail, and the hightlights bright but not blown out. Nice control.
