Wonderful action shot! It looks like the owl is looking right at you and reaching it’s wing toward you.

The right wing coming forward is really dramatic. Bet you were close to the bird. What focal length is it. must not be very long to produce such an effect.

Fantastic shot what time of nightwas this?

Congratulations: one of the very best animal images I’ve seen. It seems you were flying together.

the image says it all, great instance and the face so clear. I like the fact that the wings are blurred. Instigates motion. great image.

Owls have always had great mind as in this pix your first look is to its wings as we don’t know how high it can fly!

What a remarkable catch. The positioning of the shot leaves the audience feeling the movement of flight, and there is a sense of mystery in the eyes. Outstanding job!!! You need to submit that to as many contests as possible.
Herman
What a fantastic shot. It seems that he/she was watching every move you made.

very impressive photo. looks as tho- the owl is right on coarse to take the shooters camera. whoever you are you get big stars on your report card.

I love the mid-air capture, a fixed gaze in your direction and the position of the wings. Almost feels like he is going to come right at you! Great capture. Congratulations!

Beautiful shot!

You’ve captured the owl’s two best features–great big eyes and wings so soft on the edges that they blur into the air and allow it to fly in silence. Amazing shot!
Michael Anderson

My goodness John, this is amazing. Did you use a spotting scope for this? I’m a part of RINS (raptor inventory nest survey) with the BLM (I know you know what that means) and have been running into a lot of owls here in Utah. I’m also an Artist. I would very much like to have yourpermission to draw this. Let me know.
