Golden Wings

by Madelene de Jager

Shot this image on a family outing to a farm next to the Kranspoort stream in Mpumalanga.... not very easy to get images of these little ones...
Equipment: Nikon D300 and Sigma f2.8 macro 105mm
Madelene de Jager
I started out by taking photographs of my daughter and the horses I had... then I started to take photographs at the school where I worked, at the shows when my horses competed, when our little boy was born, at the rugby club, other school and sports venues.... love what I am doing.... member of PSSA (South Africa)... broke my back in 2004, gave up on riding horses and started to do more in photography.... got the news: cancer in March 2008, did the chemo etc and am now back on track...

It’s a stained-glass flying-mobile.

Wow, stunning clarity. Is this real?? None the less, it makes for a nice photograph.

Dragonfly wings are amazing as all four work independently of each other; this one is one of the prettiest I’ve seen.

Wonderful colors, and as sharp of wings I’ve seen on a dragon!! Yes, it’s not easy to catch one of these with a macro lens!!

Congratulations, Madelene, this is a beautiful picture. It does look like stained glass work in miniature. On a personal note, if I may, you are quite a fighter. I wish you the best.

Amazing clarity and detail. Wonderful job on this macro and glad you are on the other side of the cancer – blessings.

Who would have thought a dragonfly to be so beautiful, & in perfect shape!
It really does look like a piece of art!
All the best to you with your work & health.

“Only those who partake of the harmony within their souls … know the harmony that runs through nature.” Madelene, you are an incredible “inspiration” – not only as a cancer survivor – but as a “photographer.” Incredidle POTD.

Sometimes it takes a Macro Image to reveal the beauty otherwise over looked on this earth.
