Golden Wings
by Madelene de Jager
Shot this image on a family outing to a farm next to the Kranspoort stream in Mpumalanga…. not very easy to get images of these little ones…
Equipment: Nikon D300 and Sigma f2.8 macro 105mm
Madelene de Jager
I started out by taking photographs of my daughter and the horses I had… then I started to take photographs at the school where I worked, at the shows when my horses competed, when our little boy was born, at the rugby club, other school and sports venues…. love what I am doing…. member of PSSA (South Africa)… broke my back in 2004, gave up on riding horses and started to do more in photography…. got the news: cancer in March 2008, did the chemo etc and am now back on track…

Wonderful colors, and as sharp of wings I’ve seen on a dragon!! Yes, it’s not easy to catch one of these with a macro lens!!

“Only those who partake of the harmony within their souls … know the harmony that runs through nature.” Madelene, you are an incredible “inspiration” – not only as a cancer survivor – but as a “photographer.” Incredidle POTD.
