Up and Down
by BB
Candic shot while I visited a family house in Jodhpur - India. The stairs were so attractive that I could'nt resist taking dozens of them :)
Equipment: Nikon D40 - nikkor 18-200VR

Little I knew when I decided to upload a few of my travel photos to share with friends just where it would all lead. It was the start of a wonderful journey, a new addiction and a new phase of my life. It changed my life deeply...
I find that Photography is a therapy.. a way of forgetting time and focus on light, its greatness and look at the inner self to discover something that's beyond nature and life.

Lovely colors but you should have taken just the feet; we can see the bodies but it is very frustrating not being able to see the heads.

I’m struck by the colours first, then the shapes made by the women’s legs as they take their steps. One foot firmly planted one foot preparing to lift off its firm base, following the the angles of the stairs, in a way. And the women’s bodies seem to be in a silent conversation together, the way one leans into the other. I like the oddity of not seeing their faces, so I can make my own story from this image. Thanks, it’s a lovely feast for the eyes. Bon voyag e bon chanc, brave photographer ; )

I love the vibrant colours but I too would have liked to have seen the faces on these ladiesn ot a shot I would keep coming back to for that reason.

Grande BB! Bela imagem!

The idea and concept behind this shot is a good one had it been properly executed. Full pun intended. However, IMHO it compositionally and technically lacking. I agree that the staircase is attractive but this kind of shot you have tried to achieve falls into the arty type bracket and requires a great deal of skill. Keep practising.

It seems to be difficult for the second lady to step or perhaps they,re glancing at something.
An interesting picture!

Thanks 4 your feedback!
I have to rephrase that these are not models, they are not posing, and this is not a cropped photo. They were Indian women that could not speak any English… only very happy to have me inside their home taking some pictures.
thanks again

I have the privilege to know your photo for some time. I am so proud to see here, and know that is shared by a world larger than your usual. Congratulations !!!!! It is a recognition (if it was needed) that shooting is not known for whom, for whom this is ……

I would like to see the women (with no parts missing) on the bottom steps – with the ascending stretch of blue beside them. Can’t fail to get a great shot with those gorgeous colours.

Very creatively and imaginatively composed. Showing the whole of the women would have totally altered the shot. What a story, what mystery!! Full marks.
