Highway to Heaven
by Santi Banon
Winter fogs are sometimes heavy at Pamplona (Spain). This time the fog took a little rest (just a few seconds!) to show a small part of the highway of the "Pillgrims way to Santiago". It looked like a highway to heaven.

Now thats a good place to use the word “AWESOM” and that doesnt even seem like a powerful enough word. WOW I could look at that for hours.

Great story to go with this image. It certainly does look like it leads right to heaven. Great, unique shot. Congratulations.

I am not sure I would take any heaven you can get to with a gasoline engine… But what a stunning image – full of engaging contrasts. Remarkable. One of my favorites.

Lovely ethereal photo………I always enjoy seeing textures played one against another, and you’ve surely succeeded in that. I’d prefer a heaven sans motor vehicles as well………

Very unusual and original shot. The composition is excellent!

A very different shot, well done, could also be titled, Road to nowhere!

Before I even read your story, I thought “the road to heaven” a truely lovely shot

cool shot indeed. it is very moody and the low fog looks very clear even though far away.

Winter fogs are from hell, for sure! A nice idea and a simple moment transformed in a great composition.

Fascinating shot and different; which makes it stand out above the crowd. It has an almost ‘Other Worlds’ atmosphere to it as we see the road disappear heavenwards through the mist and cloud. And drivers of their cars are unaware of the scene that is playing out before them as they enter into that secret land which lies beyond the mist and our imagination.

Unusual choice of subject, but exactly for this reason, great choice. Not many photographer would notice that beauty can also be found in a highway!
This is real originality and creativity.

Kirk Jordon’s response (above)gave me a good chuckle, and I agree………..but what an AWESOME shot, and I LOVE THE CAPTION! The hill at the top just showing above the fog just tops it off. Well-seen and well-taken!

Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela is done on foot. I hope this isn’t a part of it! The picture is fantastic, though!

Excellent is right! What a incredible shot, its one to put on a wall and look at all day! Well done!

Amazing, like that saying, “road leading to heavens”.
Marie Dunphy Harding
The highway looks almost suspended in air, which suits your title perfectly.
Pauline Jones
Great concept and well composed.

What a striking composition! I love the sepia tones, the mysterious beauty, and the figurative title. The highway could also lead unsuspecting travelers into…
… “The Twilight Zone.”

I like this pic, because it really looks like the way to heaven

I don’t think there’ll be a shot quite like this for a long time.

It looks like a city in the clouds, its beautiful!

This photo reminds me of a dream I had when I was very young, except the highway was deserted and there were no warm tones. This is much more pleasing to the eye, but still ethereal – magical.
Thank you for sharing this with us!!

Not sure if this goes into the context but wanted to know the address of a Volkswagon dealer in East London if any?
