Red Campion
by Sandra
An atmospheric sunset at the coast in Allinge, Bornholm, in spring. I saw this beautiful Red Campion on the rocks and tried to portray the plant with a wideangle lens in its habitat. The backlight underlines the fine lines and the translucent nature of the Red Campion.
Equipment: Nikon F90, Nikkor 2.8/20mm, Fuji Velvia 50, 2 Grey Graduated Filters

Nice shot that has a meaning and apart from being very discreet it has that sense of emotion in it that transmits fragility and strength at the same time.
Rebecca
Absolutely wonderful!

I’m curious about the scale: Is the featured plant the size of a msall potted plant, or is it several feet (or a meter or more) high? Most Beautiful.
Hanna
Surreal light, colour and scale. Not that it’s not beautiful! It’s astonishing, how on earth did you do that? I mean, it can’t be easy, right?
Marie Dunphy Harding

Hey, these are wonderful. Do I detect a little hue-boosting in Photoshop? No big deal either way, you have achieved a stunning image.

Wow, thank you … I’m really delighted to have my image shown here. Thank you for all your comments.
@ Kirk
It is quite small – only 15-20cm.
@ Hanna
It wasn’t easy as I had to go really down with my camera – and in order to see something through the viewfinder – I almost scraped my face on the rocks. I’m really happy that it turned out that way.

You did a most beautiful job! The lighting is incredible!
Katherine Lee Strassburg
How uncomfortable was it to lie on the rocks and wait for the lighting to be that perfect? This is a well-deserved potd………..everything is perfectly balanced, focused, and so very calming. I salute you!
Laurie
It looks like another world! It would be a great place to film a sci-fi movie.
