nice..
I knew exactly who took this when I saw it, congrats Chip! Saw this first on Flickr and was as impressed with it this time as when I first saw it.
You really should submit this to http://www.Merzeta.com I get it would do well there too!
great shot! I spent many days in Banff over the years, and still not seen such a great sunrise view.
perfect, from an excellent point on the lake.
Perfect colors and fantastic composition. The unusual ice formation looks like a rocky beach-front leading the viewer across the lake and up the mountain into the sky. Very, very nice.
I never seen a sky like that before. Nice reflections also.
Gorgeous. You really showed Mount Rundle off well with this capture. Great colors, excellent composition, well done. Congratulations.
Stunning, love the angle.
what a great image my friend…brilliant colors
and fantastic perspective ![]()
congrats !!!
Beautiful shot, and were you standing on ICE??!!
One of my favorites so far! Peaceful, stunning beauty.
Wow! You certainly did “show off” a beautiful part of Canada. Thanks & Congrats, Chip.
Excellent light and fantastic composition form a masterpiece. Very well done !

Awesome shot Chip! I love it. Great composition and placement and I totally feel as though I am standing right where you did when you captured this. You were able to brilliantly capture all the dynamics from this scene, like it were the coolest of chord changes you’ve heard lately……….. Anil.
AMAZING great shot however the colours in the sky seem overdone a little.
This image is truly gorgeous and inspirational. The colors are bright and vivid – love the rays of light coming from behind the mountain. It reminds me of place here in Montana in the Bitterroot Valley where I lived called Lake Como (named after the Italian lake). This shots highlights everything perfectly, the water, the mountain, and the light. Congratulations on you POTD!!
Stunning. Sunsets and sunrises are my favourite things in life, and you seem to have a gift for capturing them, looking through your website. So is this why the lakes are called Vermillion? It would make sense. Happy travels Chip.
BEAUTIFUL!
This is a very effective picture; the colors are lovely.
nice and balanced shot. Very nice colors and crystal clear image. I really like the balancing of the composition.
Great lead in and wonderful colours of a great location. I will have to check out priceing for travel here….
Breathtaking. That’s what I call “Fire and Ice”
Well, Chip, I think you achieved your goal in spades.
Wow, breathtaking indeed!! Nice!
What a stunning shor, love the hues of that sky
