Born in 68, in Portugal, started to shoot when I was 14 with my dad's camera. Recently I entered the digital era and started to shoot with one of my favorite techniques: long exposure! Hope you enjoy my work.

Awe-inspiring rocks and surf–as if stacked by some primitive tribe to hold back the sea. Fascinating image with an other-world quality. Very nice work!

I just looked at this, and the “Water Dreams” shot from two days ago… and despite the very different content, both images employ very simular lines and framing. Isn’t the fact that we have some sense of right (or wrong) composition a marvel in itself? Beyond that, I really like the beyond blue blue of the extended night sky.

Wonderful capture. Good contrast in the rocks and the sky. A beautiful image.

Excellent!!
If the star trails were not there, it could easily pass as a sun-lighted shot. Besides long exposure did you also paint with a hand held light or something like that? What is the source of lights on the rocks, Your car headlights?

@Kirk
I agree, after all there does seem to be some universal concept of beauty, rather than the eye of the beholder kind of stuff!!

Long exposure works very well here; the colors are just perfect.

Very nice shot indeed. clear, neat without the need of any fancy stuff. I like the blue background. The differential lighting poses a little of a mystery but in a positive way.

Rocks and water, again! Boring!

Great capture

I’d hardly describe this as boring!

I like it.

However maybe some dancing monkey’s in clown suits would give it that extra appeal ?

Wow. All those shades of blue and brown!! I love this picture and I will check the spot on GoogleEarth, where it surely won’t look as beautiful. I want to include it on my next trip to Portugal.

I love good photos of interesting rocks-and this
one is excellent. When I shot photos in my teens of rocks and sidewalk cracks I sometimes
won awards. You have an excellent eye for
composition.

The pale blue make the rocks look like ice. Is this a man or earth made rock formation?
Either way, a work of art!

It looks like an ancient, crumbling, man-made structure, such as a fortress.
(Near the bottom righthand corner, notice the perfectly rectangular stone “bricks” with mortar in the cracks.)
I would love to know the history of this fascinating place.

A beautiful photo!! The colors, composition, and angles of the rocks make it an interesting photo to look at. It is so surreal and mysterious. I love the geological formations. Congratulations on a GREAT potd!!!

Love the haze created by the long exposure of the breaking waves

Love it, love it, love it….love the composition of the astral versus the ethereal, the jagged rocks in the night sky versus the vibrant ever-flowing water, it’s simply a perfect photograph. A perfect vision. Excellent!

Interesting. I never seen a formation like that.
