I’ve noticed that when we submit photos, we list a location, however, the location doesn’t show up with the photo. Where is this? I really like the unkempt wildness of the shot, however, I suspect a heavy hand with the dodge tool in cattails.

Black lace trees against a wintry sky–rioting textures of clouds, ice, and marsh grass–glowing reflections–all work together to give the viewer a real feel of the wild area. I like it, but I also wonder about the strange lighting on the cattails on the right.

Great shot indeed, all the details are great accept that anomalous light on the right. I am wondering if there could have been a little softer touch. But the angle is good and the balanced lighting of the sun is great.

This photo is much more than what it appears. For me it tells a story. It is inspiring and makes me want to write a book to go along with the photo!! Beautiful colors and composition. Congratulations!

Hi All, if this is a golf course in the UK (Wales) then those are not cattails on the right. It is a type of marsh plant that grows over here and stays green all year long. I don’t think anything was doctored. I am especially enjoying the sun, its reflection and the cloud patterns… Well done. Another grey day in the UK… still poignant!

Lighting is excellent! It is the most importnat thing about this image that makes it truly stand out from any others that could be like it.
Perfect, simple, beautitiful.

I find the shillouette of the bare branches of the trees quite interesting.

Beautiful! Quite tricky to do with the sun shining directly through the trees and you still managed to capture the detail.
