Roaring Dragon

by Isabel Synnatschke

There is something magic each evening after the sun sets. The deep red sandstone starts to glow and mythical creatures come out and roam the remote desert. This is one of my favorite spots: a cold winter's day, the roaring dragon, and me.

Well, Isabel, for being “just an amateur”, you certainly do know where to be to get the shots. Excellent image!! Great lines , nice colors, very well composed. Congratulations on your POTD!

Reminds me of the song “……..making love out of nothing at all” – ?? Air Supply
…ala – making a shot out of nothing at all. Thats creativity!

Love the title, very apt, and the scene is really beautiful. Is it Colorado?

8th January 2009 at 8:35 am

@all: Thank you! :)
@Joyce and Su: Southern Nevada, US. I´m not sure if there is an official name for this place up to now. Some call it Little Finland others Hobgoblins Playground or Hobgoblin Valley.

You do beautiful work and I enjoyed some
of your other photos on your website. Especially
night shots of Vienna. Still want to know where
this photo of the day was taken, perhaps Arizona?

This is a shot for the visionaries. I am VERY impressed with this shot, not only for it’s content and perspective, but also, for it’s progressive ingenuity. KUDOS to you! Very Impressive vision!
