Puffin Pose

Puffins are very photogenic and these ones are no exception. They have a natural tendency to strike a pose and their beautiful colours contrast against their often harsh environment. The Shetland Islands are a great place to see puffins, especially at Sumburgh Head in the south, where this photograph was taken.

Great image! Such clarity on the puffins with a perfect blend of blur in the background to contrast. Congratulations, this photo surely deserves POTD!!

Lovely shot but I would have cropped in a little closer in order to get a really good look at the birds.

Very nice photo. I absolutely love puffins! I tried to photograph them in Alsaka but they wouldn’t stand still for me they fly so fast!

Wonderful shot–by not closing in on the birds, you show that they are living on a small cliff. I like shots that include habitat.

I agree with Pauline…I would crop it too a little bit but despite my illness of cropping things out this photo is perfect one! I like the pose you got them and nice colors…
