Ostrich quartet
by Nick Blackburn
Ostriches at dusk in Masai Mara catch the last rays of sun; a scene that can bring back fond memories to anyone who has been lucky enough to visit that part of the world.

I have been interested in photography for many years, but only since recently have I started photography in a more serious way, and travelling to places with photography in mind. My main interests are in nature and landscape photography.

very nice shot. It has a nice simplistic mood. the image is not really technical but the mood is there.

Very well balanced composition; but its a quintet, not a quartet.

I like the subtle colors, but the gradation of lighting toward the horizon, along with the tiny hint of dark hills so far away, really intensivies the vastness of the savannah. Nice habitat shot.

Pauline Jones: You are correct; it should be a “quintet”, rather than a “quartet”. However, your own sentence should read “… it’s a quintet…”, rather than “… its a quintet…”.

The trees in the distance are so beautiful and help to frame the subjects.
