Dahlia

This is a dahlia I found in my yard. I liked the contrast between the open flower and the closed. To achieve the green blur in the background I had an aperture of f/5.

Good colors and contrast. Great light and Ideal sharpness. However you could have composed so as to avoid the overlapping of the bud and the flower.

For me the lighting, colours and almost perfect symmentry of the open flower make this an appealing photograph. I find the overlapping flower a bit of a distraction and think the background could have been thrown a little more out of focus.

Beautiful detail on both flowers. However, I would have liked the flowers centered a bit more. Too much empty space on the right.
