This is an outstanding shot! You must know nature well to be willing to wait so confidently for just the right moment. Sunlight and shadow–you made the most of them, and I thank you for it.
I wish I were a poet, so that I could post a worthy comment.
Ever since childhood I have have been mesmerised by these corpuscular beams. Likening them to how fishes might see their world with the sun rays filtering down from the ocean surface above. This shot portrays that imagery exactly. Looking at the image one feels that we are living in another ocean of air residing above the other ocean of water.
Thanks for the lovely image.
This is poetry!
Spectacular shot, awesome. Loved your website too.
congrats on potd.
This is a lovely use of light; you were right to make it monochrome to blot out all distractions; well done.
great shot and use of the right exposure. I really like the balance between the black and the white parts especially the center part of the image. Well rewarded patience.
Good use of B&W
Your patience paid off for you & for those of us sharing this Fantastic sight. Thank you.

Oh, the beauty of nature and humans’ ability to capture it without touching it! Beautiful shot, Michael, and beautiful words from Anurag. Amen.
Ditto Planet Lover….beautiful image.
Patience and a bit of luck. It was worth the wait.
Stunning. The light presses this picture into monumental proportion.
