Wild Goose Island

The smoke from a nearby fire highlighted the suns rays as they raced across St. Mary’s Lake in Glacier NP. After two hours of waiting one finally struck Wild Goose Island.

I wish I were a poet, so that I could post a worthy comment.
Ever since childhood I have have been mesmerised by these corpuscular beams. Likening them to how fishes might see their world with the sun rays filtering down from the ocean surface above. This shot portrays that imagery exactly. Looking at the image one feels that we are living in another ocean of air residing above the other ocean of water.
