Great photo of a truly magnificent animal. How lucky you are to share a swim with him! I really like this shot.

One those pics that sends you straight to wikipedia. An inspiring combination of light and colour and a kind of incandescence that gives the image depth and lights up the Shark’s beautiful Morse Code. Beautifully captured sleek grace. Hope the code is not sending an SOS for the species. Well Hunted.

It is interesting to note that certain animals are referred to as being specifically male or female, even when the photographer makes no mention of the sex of that particular animal. For example, three posters above use “… he …”, “… him …” and “… his …” when typing about the shark in the picture. Does anyone know how to distinguish between male and female whale sharks from this angle?

Fantastic shot of the largest fish on the planet.

I still have a scar on my foor from flipper burn when trying to keep up with one for 30 mins at Ningaloo reef in Western Australia.

Hard work is involved in the taking of some of these photos. What intriguing images lie just beneath the water’s surface. An entirely different world, that we ate responsible for. Hope we don’t forget that. Beautiful creature.
