Panorama On Park Avenue
by Philippe Sainte-Laudy
We no longer know who is strongest: The beauty of the landscapes of Utah or heat!
Equipment: Nikon D300 with 18/200mm
Philippe Sainte-Laudy
The beauty of nature is all around us at all times, but there are brief moments when a combination of elements present themselves
in a truly spectacular way.
Anybody who is fortunate enough to witnesses one of these events will look back fondly upon the memory.
And they are even more fortunate if they happen to have a camera ready to record the event.
In order to be in the right place at the right time, it is necessary to understand the complex interactions between light, weather, landscape, the tides, plants, and animals. And it is important to have a deep respect for this planet and its inhabitants.
I hope that photography can bring people closer to nature and encourage them to preserve it for future generations.

Being “postcard like” does not detract the quality of a great picture like this. Actually, only exceptional pictures should get to a postcard!

Very nice rendition of the fiery hot earth and the cool blue sky. Utah is indeed a land of extremes. I also try to share a love and respect for the natural world with others. Your comment about having the right photo equipment handy made me laugh–I often leave my camera home just to increase the chance that I’ll see something magnificent!

You can almost sense a wagon train just coming into view from the days of the wild west. I love this kind of wilderness and the picture captures the moment just right with all the elements coming together.
