Impregnable

by Tad Bowman

This shot was taken of a fall aspen grove near the town of Aspen, Colorado. The aspen boles are quite the sight and seem to loom at you.
Equipment: Canon 1DS MII, 24-70 mm lens, tripod

Spectacular! I feel like I am right there in the forest and can just reach out to touch parchment on the trees! I find this photograph of nature absolutely stunning as fall colors always keenly captivate my interest! It reminds me of the pristine wilderness of Minnesota–thank you for sharing this with me!

I love the contrast in this capture, well done.

Bold positioning putting the main trunk bang in mid-frame. But it works & everything else seems to fall away from it. The symmetry is so good that it almost looks the same upside down.
Great shot.

Excellent depth perception in this photograph. A very nice photograph that is well thought out and nicely captured. Love it!

Lovely nature scene! Fall is so beautiful; I bet this very spot will also be stunning in winter and spring, not to mention summer. I guess I really liked it… Thanks!

The first thing that came out of our mouth when we saw this was, “WOW!!!!” This is simply beautiful. I love all the lines yet the focal point is the fore front trunk. Great colors and exposure. Congrats on your well deserved POTD!!!!

Lovely image. I like how the trees on each half are a mirror image of the other. Try one with a shallow depth of field as a variation.

Very nice symmetrical shot. I am wondering if I would have moved the central tree to the side but that is just a matter of likes. great shot.

Clearly a very good photo. Did you know that….The Aspen trees share a common root system and the black markings running up the trunk of the trees are scars from old smaller branches. Any scratch marks from bears and deer etc, will scar the trees with a distinctive black mark as well.

This is amazing. I’d like to be in the middle of it with the blue sky above and the breeze showering me with fluttering leaves like gold dubloons! Thanks for taking me there.

The colors are lovely; are aspen and silver birch the same thing?

I like those trees. I wish they were over here in New York.

I have always envisioned this scene….though I was seeing birch. Thanks for showing me this scene.
