Sunset in the Desert

This picture was taken at the top of the dune 45, in the Namib-Naukluft Desert, Namibia. The climbing is not easy but it is worth it!

The color really imparts a feeling of the heat of the sun. We don’t have to ‘look for the beauty of nature and people’, we just have to be ready and willing to see what is there before us. You obviously have your eyes wide open! Thanks for taking me to a place I’ll never see any other way!

Wow – great picture. I want to spank that dune with my snowboard. Reminds me of the great sand dunes in Colorado where I rode a snowboard on sand for the first time. You’re right – the climbing is NOT easy! Thanks for the great shot!

Beautiful scene.
Framing is good with the artistically placed diagonal. The redish orange colors look very pleasing though tending to look a bit over blown. I really like the imaginative cropping and how it has helped to control the contrast by cutting out the Sun. The small figures also help in keeping the eye interested for a longer time.
