Heaven’s Door

by Pierre-Emmanuel Bourgouin

It must be the highest restaurant in Europe, near the "Mont Blanc". When I was there, it was so cold my old medium format froze. Only my 20D was in working order! The day before, it was -43 deg. C!!!
Equipment: Canon EOS 20D / Canon 17-85 IS 4.5/5.6

Fantastic! Brrrrr….the crisp blue air and hard stark-white frozen edges counter-balanced by the soft cirrus clouds really tell the story. I can feel my nose hairs freeze as I inhale! This one really sets a mood.

Thank You.
This is what Earthshots is all about.
I never knew such a place existed.

Technically accomplished as well.

very effective shot I must say. The color density is perfect and the vividness of the shot is wonderful.

Wow! A great shot! Looks more like Hell’s Door to me though. An incredible place that makes ‘Castle Dracula’ look like a holiday destination…brrrr!

The 20d held up well under the circumstances.

Is this for real? How ‘on earth’ do you get to it?
I’ve never seen anything like this!

It’s surprising that only your “old medium” froze!

Real nice and eerie in a beautiful and magical way. It send me an image of a giant liner navigating through a sea of clouds with a parallel universe for destination. Amazing to think that so many of us are brain washed to go to heaven when heaven can be also here if we only put down our swords and share.

This seems to be some kind of double exposure or reworked photo. I don’t think there is any such place as this.
