Fall Season In Alaska
by Kevin McNeal
I just got back from a couple of weeks in Alaska to shoot the tundra. I got lucky and timed it right as the reds were illuminating everywhere. I was also lucky visiting Denali to see the mountain the whole time I was there. Up to now the mountain had only been visible four times this year. Anyways, I realize this is an iconic image but it means something personally has I have dreamed of seeing this mountain and to see the tundra in red as well. Three Bracketed Raw images/Singh-Ray Color Combo.
Equipment: Canon 5D 17-40L f/16

Fantastic! We can see for miles and miles. The red hillock in the foreground really pulls us into the depths of the scene. Mother Earth must love you very much to show herself so completely to you–Denali is indeed a very shy peak. Thanks for sharing the beauty.

I’d love to see this available as a Google “artist theme” – artwork available as backgrounds for your igoogle homepage.
This is really gorgeous and just takes you right there. Beautiful work.

What a beautiful capture, Kevin! This tundra is much more colorful and alive than I would have otherwise expected. Is not all tundra frozen and lifeless?

I have never seen a shot like this before; the earth is definitely worth saving and where man has not interfered, like here, it is still very beautiful.

As always, Kevin, what a beautiful shot!!! The future of the Alaskan wild lands is so uncertain. Between climate change, and man’s relentless desire to destroy it, this may be a scene that won’t play out in the future. Bravo to you, for capturing it for future generations!!! Maybe you should send a copy to Congress.

Makes me want to get back to Alaska. Isn’t it amazing what Mother Nature provides for us. I like the comment about sending this photo to congress. They need to get outside and experience real life.
