Truly spectacular and beautiful–an exotic scene that must be seen to be believed–you absolutely captured the essence of China in this photograph! This image is absolutely timeless!

What a great image. I love the look on the fisherman’s face, the way the cormorant is spreading its wings as if just waking up, and the clearly-defined red line across its back as it does so. All making a great overall composition with the red light – is that natural? I’m not a photographer but photos like this make me want to be.

Nice shot, but getting the cormoran to do his job is in my eyes harder.
Thanks for sharing.

Dear Mr Anderson
at first sight your photo it seems a great shot but I can not recognize any right shadows of objects… is it an original work of photoshop reconstruction?

Just one of those magic moments. All that subtle variation of light is so impacting.

Excelente trabajo, me gusta mucho. Me pregunto si no estará demasiado trabajada en Photoshop. Saludos desde Buenos Aires. Juan Pablo

What a wonderful image to capture. The tones and composition are lovely. I would love it if this was actually a scene you saw and captured. It just doesn’t quite look that way, and so if it’s real, maybe you could have left some imperfection. There’s such a thing as too much of a good thing with Photoshop.

This is a lovely photo of a not often seen subject excellently treated. I love the colors.

Gerat work! Very nicely composed, great use of the wide angle lens, Perfect timing.
The trio of the petromax the bird and the fisherman creat an almost “Treasure Island” like atmosphere.

P.S.

If Ansel Adams were alive today, this is the kind of work he’d be doing with the digital lightroom tools that have taken the place of his dodge and burn tools (on steroids). He would love this!
