The Stone Vortex
by Tad Bowman
This photograph was taken in a slot canyon of Utah. I was very much drawn to the repetitive shapes of the canyon walls with the unique striations.

“C’est par l’art que l’humain prend conscience de son identité avec la nature.”(Rodin) Bravo Mr. Bowman, magnificent! While most walls seems to enclose, these let the light in and provide rays of hope.

Awesome, Tad!!! Wouldn’t want to be in there during a flash flood!

A really beautiful shot; it brings to mind so many things, and even looks quite sexual. Thank you for sharing it.

Great shot, though I would have shot the same scene with a shallower Depth of field.

Very nice shot mate. I like the continuity of the capture and the overall red saturation.

I’ve never seen this view of the Slot Canyon–much in the style of a Georgia O’Keefe painting. Beautiful and thought provoking!

Very unusual; what kind of stone is this?
Tad Bowman
Hi Pauline. I’m not entirely sure. I believe it’s sandstone.
