What an alignment! – even the trunk of the tree is parallel to the beam of light. Wonder whats causing it. Don’t see much foliage in the direction its coming from.

God is in Illinois.

Good shot overall but it looks too noisy for my likes.
Brandy
Very unique! I love how the light from the beam shows just a little amount of the green from the leaves. I thing that the “noise” is actually fog. Right? Great shot.
alberto
very good

I’m sorry. But, I find the top left, out of focus foliage, distracting. I believe that a crop to the top, and a little from the dark left side, would make it an even better photo. It would draw more attention to the light on the tree. Just a suggestion.

Who says the Midwest can’t be magically, mysteriously beautiful? A great capture of a frequently maligned river!

I don’t see noise, I see mist. I live with a lot of fog, and I recognize it’s presence. ;-P
This is a beautiful composition–I just love the image.
