Grizzly Property

by Richard Dumoulin

No it's not a zoo. No the bears are not fed to show up for tourists. It's Katmai National Park where nature is mostly untouch by the man. It's deep in the heart of Alaska and you will find there a lot of grizzlys. They tolerate each other but some of them are feared. They recognize themselves using their smell. This photo was taken on the ground, near the Katmai Wilderness Lodge (about an hour by boat from the lodge, in Kukak bay).

WOW, a refreshing change.
At first they appear to be bisons or some other grazers. But Sir!! don’t be fooled.(Great)The world is full of surprises. Great shot Richard.

I was just reading how grizzlies have a hump on their back. It’s really pronounced on that one in front. I thought it was a buffalo at first. Nice shot.

It’s nice to see them relaxed & untouched.
Thanks for the info.

This must be very big bears judging from the size of those humps, great natural shot.
