This is really beautiful. The sinuous shapes appear to be etched by the tractor tires, and the glowing sunrise has imparted mystical colors. Please tell me this wasn’t ‘photo-shopped’………..the rosy glow on the tree tops makes me believe it is totally natural. Very nice!

On an Airplane or a treetop!! :-)
Wonderful, I’ve seen this image before on your website. It is indeed beautiful.

….. But, on a different level, look at the ugly monoculture man has produced, and how vulnerable to pest or disease the whole area looks.

this is one fantastic landscape!!…..
the colours are simply mind-boggling!!……. well done!!

someone has to grow the hay to feed the cows…..

Anyhow, very nice image–I’ve often been amazed by the patterns out on the Palouse. Someday I’d love to be there for sunrise, and if I were lucky enough to have a guide like you–all the better!! ;-)

thanks everyone for the comments. This was taken from Steptoe Butte, the highest point in the palouse. FYI, these are mostly wheat fields (the dark green), and canola (the bright yellow). This area is one of the highest producers of wheat in the world!

TomBrooklyn-this version has a bit of an orange cast that was fixed in a subsequent version. Other than that, not much was done to work this image.

I love the rich colors and the rolling hills of the palouse country. I had a grandma that lived out there and I miss her and the landscape very much. Love the colors – wonderful job!
