Rainbows over Lochaber

by David Beresford

After a wet and grey afternoon the setting sun finally burst through the clouds, illuminating the hills and creating two rainbows. Roybridge, Scotland.

One of the most luminious rainbows I’ve seen. And the golden sunlight on the foreground is …well…… out of the world!

It looks like David was the right guy in the right place at the right time. It helped that you knew what to do with it when God threw this scene out there for you. The image reminds me of a song title by a one man band in 1970′s Laguna Beach, California… “The Enlightening Beam of Axonda”.

Enjoy!

Excellent landscape. We don’t get enough pictures of Scotland.

Very nice shot but very intriguing, I am just wondering if it is a slight slow exposure or the hand of SOL that got that warmth out of the rainbow. I really like the double rainbow image and the well lit ground.

This image is very striking. It has benefited from a bit of photo-shopping hasn’t it? I have taken some very strong rainbow shots but never to this level of intensity.

Awesome shot! Had you gone a little further, David, you may have seen a pot of gold!

How Beautiful and Heavenly. A double rainbow. So surreal! Can look at the picture for hours – and still perceive unique images. Scotland is a marvelous country. By the way, I reside in the Hamlet of Pt. Clark, Ontario (Canada)- not very far from Kincardine. This weekend the village is celebrating the 100th Aniversary of the Scottish Highland Games! God bless all!

WONDERFUL RAINBOWS! YAY!! It looks like I should see a block Pot o’Gold or the Leprechaun protecting his Lucky Charms in this picture. Well done!
