Radiant Cycas

by Anurag Singhal

It had rained in the morning and the overcast sky provided this lovely diffuse light which imparted this glowing look to the cycas.
Equipment: Nikon D300 18-200 @ 135mm ISO 640

I am a doctor (ENT Surgeon) born 1970. Photography has been my passion since the last twenty years. I like to shoot all kinds of subjects, landscapes, Macro, Family etc. In fact I'll shoot almost anything. Most of my shooting is done while I am travelling on vacation, which I love a lot. or whenever I have the camera in my hand. I am one of those who believe that Photography is as much a fine art as painting is, as opposed to many who view it as more of a documentary medium, only ment to record reality. I am agreat fan of digital and will not hesitate to use Photoshop to the fullest to push the image in my intended direction. Besides Photography I love music and am an avid Tabla Player (an Indian Percussion Instrument). I also love to listen to Beethoven and sometimes others like Bach and Vivaldi, and, of course Rock music of the 70s and 80s.

Absolutely beautiful. I wish I had this in my yard, but I would venture to guess it would not sustain well in New England!

Beautiful catch. I love the Tabla, it is a very unique drum, full of melodic (sp) rhythms……

Anurag, this is a really nice composition. I love the fronds radiating out into the foreground and the touch of red in them.
