Clouds Over Paradise

by Craig Wolf

After days of rain the clouds began to clear. Standing in mud at the edge of a newly formed pond I took this image. Minutes later the clouds covered the entire peak.

Jim,
Thanks for the kind words. It was socked in for days and you couldn’t see the trees let alone Half Dome. It only cleared for a few minutes. Just enough time to grab a few shots.
Thanks again, Craig

Silvery blue and golden yellow, what a color combination and terriffic lines of the forest and the clouds.
Great Image.

Very nice composition. The distant mountain is just perfect and the trees are very clear, even though shading from a darker ambient. nice shot.

The blues and the yellows make this one a good composition.

Very interesting! It looks so eerie! As CrisB said, it looks so ancient and primeval!

I love the aforementioned ‘primeval’ effect established here, as well as the ‘eerie’ sense you get when looking at this picture! Nice work!

What a perfect shot! The first time I visited Yosemite was in the middle of a drought, so the waterfalls were mere wisps. The next time, the same falls were thundering torrents. It is always changing, yet you always feel at home there. John Muir should be praised for helping save this national treasure, and you should be praised for sharing such a fantastic place and mood with the world!

Great shot. Good colors and exposure is spot on. I stood at this exact point about a year ago, but had some better weather. The pictures are on my website. Still your photo has more character than the ones I took that day. :) Anyway, good shot!

I climbed that face in 3 days in a slightly warmer July. That is a FANTASTIC picture. Well done Craig.
