Up Close and Personal
by Lakshmi
She made a nest and laid two eggs in a pot in our balcony. She wouldn't leave her eggs in a hurry. So this is as close I could get to her, rather as close as she would let me get to her. She did try poke at the lens a few times.

I am totally taken in by photography as a medium. Photography allows you to look at the world in totally different perspective, trains your eyes to see the world in better light and look for beauty in the most unexpected of places. It is indeed very surprising that so much can be learnt and understood about our world just by freezing a frame for a fraction of a second.

Awesome closeup and angle. Dead on.

Such are the powerful maternal instincts. I am sure she must be extremely terrified by your presence but did not desert the eggs.
You did very well to achieve a dramatic composition.

I really like this one. The tiny droplets of water (dew?) add a special touch.
